Tuning & Maintenance

A pipe organ is a living instrument — its tuning shifts with the seasons, the temperature and the humidity of the building it inhabits. Regular professional servicing keeps your organ sounding its best and prevents small problems from becoming costly ones.

Derek provides tuning and maintenance visits to churches and cathedrals throughout Ireland, scheduling each visit to suit the needs of the instrument and the liturgical calendar.

Restoration & Rebuilds

New Organ Builds

The design and construction of a new pipe organ is one of the most significant undertakings a church can commission. Derek works closely with clergy, architects and music directors to design an instrument perfectly suited to the space — acoustically, aesthetically and practically.

Conservation of Heritage Instruments

Ireland's older organs represent an irreplaceable part of the country's musical and ecclesiastical heritage. The conservation of these instruments requires a specialist approach — one that prioritises the preservation of historic material and the original tonal character of the organ.

Derek carries out conservation work on vintage and heritage instruments throughout Ireland, working sensitively to stabilise, preserve and, where appropriate, carefully restore instruments of historical significance.
